These dogs are trained to disrupt behaviour outside of the child’s set behavioural patten. In addition, these dogs can be trained to track the child should he or she wander away. Autism Assist Dogs can become “extra help” when out in public by having the child tethered to the dog who will act as an anchor instead of having to be held by hand.

The most important aspect is the hope that the child will build a trusting relationship with their dog. Regardless of what advanced skills Autism Assistance Dogs might be trained to do, their primary purpose is to provide a best friend, confidant and playmate for a child who almost always has few friends.

Smart Pups Assistance Dogs, on the Sunshine Coast, are the only Association in Queensland training dogs for children within the Autism Spectrum. Just as Seeing Eye dogs make the world more navigable for the blind, specially trained service dogs are now also helping children with Autism achieve success and independence. These canine companions aid children through everyday social challenges and help lower children’s overall stress levels.

As we are currently fostering Ronnie (pictured above), eco earth creative was inspired to support and promote this wonderful organisation so we are now donating a percentage of all sales to support Smart Pups.
Visit the Smart Pups website here

drink it! wear it! - new range just launched!

http://www.ecoearthcreative.com/news/drink-it-wear-it-new-range-just-launched

http://www.ecoearthcreative.com/news/drink-it-wear-it-new-range-just-launched#comments

bottles

glass

nature

recycled

The new range of recycled glass jewellery is from discarded sapphire gin bottles – the bottles are cleaned, broken and placed in a low energy rotary tumbler with course grit and water. The broken glass is tumbled for days on end, washed and back into the tumbler, this time using a fine polishing grit and again tumbled for days. It is always a great surprise when the tumbler is opened, the amazing shapes appearing before your eyes, [...]

It is always a great surprise when the tumbler is opened, the amazing shapes appearing before your eyes, you see so much of nature evolving from glass.
The individual pieces of glass are selected, submerged in water and drilled using diamond tip drills. The glass is cleaned and is now ready for the creative process. Each piece is individual depending on the original break.

All chains and clasps are nickel free and tarnish resistant.
